Written on Guest Commentary: Marco in serious financial crisis?:

McMullan you are an egotistical, narcistic moron.

Written on POLL: Marco Island to keep City Manager Steve Thompson:

Ok van, we're on the same page...sorry for the mis-communication. Thompson was in fact skewered by at least two councilors. I felt that Thompsons defenders were brilliant.

Written on POLL: Marco Island to keep City Manager Steve Thompson:

Don't try and play the victim role van, you and I have been friends on the blogs for a long time now. And once again, I agree with you in that council should have given Thompson more direction.

Fact is though, you called the council inept. All I said was run for council if you can do better. Those poor saps get beat up everytime they open their mounths and rarely get complimented when things go well.

Written on POLL: Marco Island to keep City Manager Steve Thompson:

van, you should run for council; you seem to have an answer for everything. You judge everyone...for once, have the guts to put yourself out there...publicly, not anonymously!!

Written on Marco City Manager review may segue to review of city charter :

Sorry fellas, has nothing to do with the citizens vs. Marco Government; we are in terrible economic times. We're all struggling.

Written on Bryan Milk named City of Marco Island Parks and Recreation Director:

I agree Richard, this is a move that should bring our community together as far as parks and recreation are concerned. No doubt some will find fault in this decision.

Written on Marco City Manager review may segue to review of city charter :

I'll take that bet 27 year resident. I have seen the same nonsense that you have. There is always a small network of people who will do anything to disrupt our city government. Frank Recker ran his campaign on common sense and stopping all of the fighting and now he is at the center of it all. I have been a strong supporter of Recker but now he has aligned himself with the same people he campaigned against.

Written on Marco City Manager review may segue to review of city charter :

Hope you're proud of yourself Frank...you are now the champion of the CAVE Dwellers. You and Kiester are obstructionists and trobule makers. I wish I could take my vote I placed for you back.

Written on Letter To The Editor: Bravo!:

Ulher, you obviously weren't at the meeting because, as usual your facts are all wrong. You must have been in attendance at an Obama fundraiser with the rest of your wacky liberal friends.

For the record, councilors Forcht and Popoff made the motion and the second to call for a forensic audit. Councilor Recker simply attacked an innocent city manager and you shamelessly appplaud him.

Written on Marco police officer shares cause, recovery of September jet ski accident :

Wishing you both a speedy recovery. Thank God you are both ok and ignore the ignorant individuals that post inappropriate blogs.

Written on Quotes from Monday’s Marco City Council meeting:

van, I countinue to agree with many of your blogs. Seems to me the council wanted to reel the city mgr. in and set the record straight and let him, and the citizens know who is really going to run the city from this point forward.

At times I felt bad for Thompson but he handled himself with grace under fire. This was more about the council taking control than anything else.

Written on Letter To The Editor: Racism, rancor and recklessness :

Fossil, you are pitiful and dishonest! The Celebrate Marco meeting you speak of took place at Mackle Park, not a church! It was an unfortunate and inappropriate statement. But that one emotional outburst pales in comparision to what our city council and staff has had to endure over the last three years from the likes of individuals like you!

Monte, great letter and thoughts and although we disagree on our choices for President I wholeheartdly agree with your message.

Written on Politics get personal at Marco City Council meeting :

McMullan keeps throwing punches and now council is hitting back. If he can't take the heat he should get out of the kitchen. With a history like his it's amazing he still shows his face in public!

Written on Letter to the Editor: Resignation from Electric Municipalization Committee:

Good Riddance! You don't live here anyway!

Written on Marco cop recovering after crashing watercraft into mangroves:

The only thing worse than MARCOEYE's gutless post is the fact that the Eagle has not removed it! This paper has no class at all to leave such an unfortunate and disrespectful blog on their website. I clicked on the (Suggested removal) but apparently sparking controversy and blogs on the website is more important to Eagle staff than the feelings of Hennings family and friends. Totally inappropriate!

Written on Marco council unanimously approves tax relief:

van, your tax bill should be lower, mine is over $100 lower. Has your houses assessed value gone down? If not talk to the property appraser; my assessed value has gone down.

I agree: VOTE McCain / Palin

Written on Electric, water fees may be reconsidered at Marco City Council meeting:

Council lowered the millage rate, that's what happened. All this screaming from the professional complainers and cave dwellers and the council voted to reduce the budget by $1 miilion dollars.

Written on Letter to the Editor: Increases will be enormous:

Nice lady. lights on, no one home...

Written on Letter to the Editor: More from the county:

Finally someone who understands our city taxes are low! As a community we need to go to the county and demand more services and less taxation.

Written on Letter to the Editor: Negative spirits:

Seems to me the dresss codes have gotten out of control!

Written on Marco council unanimously approves tax relief:

So you did not agree with councils decision last night? Why can't you accept this as a victory for us taxpayers?

And so what if wacky Wayne meets with Arceri? I remember vividly the meetings between Godfrey Davies and Chuck Kiester. Councilor Kiester has turned out to be a very good councilor now that Davies isn't pulling his strings; he makes good decisions when he comes up with them on his own. Councilors should meet with their constituents. I am sure wacky Wayne would meet you for breakfast, just ask him.

If I had a choice I would rather have 100 Arceri's on Marco rather than one McMullan. Say what you want about Arceri and Waldack but at least they're honest. McMullan has a bad track record and he'll slip up again. People don't change that easy.

Van, as I've proven before (by just reading all of your posts) you are a complainer and will never be happy. I am thrilled with the meeting last night; there was enegy in the room except for the negative aire radiating from Bill "Kissimmee" McMullan, Marco's self-proclaimed saviour. McMullan's history is well-noted yet some of you yahoos still give him credibility.

Keep up the good work councilors!

Written on Marco council unanimously approves tax relief:

Last night was Marco City Council at their best. They actually did something positive with open and productive dialog. I have been going to council meetings since we became a city and have never seen such a riveting and dynamic debate. Hope this is the sign of more good to come...

Written on Marco Island approves highest tax rate in history, delays fire assessment:

McMullan has the nerve to preach to our council about what is best for our island...what a joke. I hope the council doesn't listen to a word he says.

Written on Letter to the Editor: From roses to rabbits:

It is disheartening to me that we have all these blogs about one insignificant individual. People on this island are not stupid, we know who McMullan is and that he is full of himself. I see him around the island waving to people as if he is the mayor of Marco. What he is blind to is that we have him figured out. He is not a person with the best interest of Marco Island in mind; he is a deceitful person and his words have no weight with the majority. Just ignore him; he is a nobody!

Written on Letter to the Editor: From roses to rabbits:

Seems to me that the bloggers above have McMullan's number, amazing you can't see that heebeed!

Written on Letter to the Editor: The cap:

Wayne, give the CAP a rest already. Stop the nonsense about the CAP. We the citizens, your constituents voted three times to keep the CAP in place...its a dead issue. What in the heck are you trying to prove?

Written on Marco City Council ‘puts tools in the hands of police officers’:

That's funny happyonmarco! A spray tan appointment...lol. He is pretty dark but that sounds like an ethnic slur? Seriously though, for $6,000 a year can you blame him? I was at that all day budget meeting, were you happyonmarco? At that meeting Popoff made it very clear that he would not attend back to back meetings and council unamimously agreed with him. Unlike most of the other councilors Rob has a job and a young family to support. We need more commonsense councilors who actually have a life outside of city politics to balance out all of the people like you with too much time on their hands.

Written on Congressman Connie Mack to visit Marco Island:

OldMarcoMan, show up, meet Mack and share with him your concerns. I'm sure he is well-aware of the Marco bridge issue and will address that. Councilor Popoff should be commended for getting this calibre of political clout to our island. We can scream and holler all we want but decisions like the bridge are made at the highest levels not in local town hall meetings which are essentially just gripe sessions for the vocal minority.

If you want to get results then go to the top. At least one councilor understands that!

Written on Marco’s bikeman is an inspirational story:

For crying out loud, hourigan you cold spineless idiot, he was just 15 years old...

Written on Letter to the Editor: Mislead by misinformation:

Ray, I have just had it with you! You are like a worn-out old sock that gets stuck behind the dryer. Why don't you just fade away like other crusty old has been dentists. The fact that your nieghbor painted his house with polka dots and won't repaint it until you die is a true testament to your standing in this community. You still might have a year or two left, it might not be too late to move to Sun City where you always belonged. Somehow you made a wrong turn and ended up on our beautiful resdiential tourist desitination.

You may be happy to know that you are the talk of the town...no one has ever read anything positive from you or about you! When you were younger did you think you woud grow old and ornery? Did you think you would be that wrinkled up old angry guy that hates everyone and everything Paret, you are the guy that people in this community laugh at. You are discounted as an old senile guy that would never write such things if he were sane.

Enjoy the time you have left with your wife and your life and go away.

Written on Letter to the editor: Another outrage:

Do us all a favor and go back to California Hall. I remember you saying you would stay out of politics and spend time on your boat after you LOST the election.

Written on Marco councilor Kiester, residents sound off on top city issues:

In your case Russ I believe it's Selective Objectivity!

Written on Marco purchases $900,000 East Elkcam Circle property:

Good deal for Mr. Ashcraft, bad deal for the city. Can't begrudge Ashcraft but I am very disppointed in our city council. Whether Joel needs the property or not the taxpayers paid too much for a piece of land next to a watse water treatment plant! I've heard that Ashcraft has been trying to sell this property for years

Written on Former Marco Island City Councilman Glenn Tucker applies for city attorney job:

Avenger, I am sure about two things:

1. Popoff doesn't like Tucker (Tucker bad mouthed him on a business deal)

2. Whoever you are I am sure you don't have the guts to talk trash to Rob's face.

Finally, six councilors voted to hear his plan. They put their emotions aside and voted to see if Tuckers firm can save the city some It. If it violates the charter, end of story. Too bad for Tucker.

Written on Marco officials ponder starting own power company:

You have to admit that "crusty old contipated naysayers is pretty funny." Thanks to Leroy we can find some humor in the blogs. Although Leroy sounds pretty harsh I wouldn't take it seriously.

Like many of the bloggers, I have grown too old and too tired of misinformaton on Marco Island from all the same names. The facts are the facts, I just wish people would accept them!

The majority on Marco has had to deal with so much negativity over the last several years I guess it has become contagious. The good news is the majority voted in a positive, pro-city council and they are doing a great job!

Written on Marco's Clinton supporters look to new presidential candidate:

Do we really have this many Democrats on Marco Island?

Written on Marco officials ponder starting own power company:

Our property taxes doubling are a result of the county taxes not the City of Marco Island. City taxes have been reduced every year since incorporation.

If you don't like your tax situation go to a County Commission meeting and complain. Once again, when the sky falls don't automatically blame our city; learn the facts first.

Written on Marco backs next phase of bridge-toll study:

Sounds great to just ignore the problem until we have no way off of our island. Just like the STRP, we need to act before it becomes a serious issue not afterwards. We cannot wait until the bridge falls down to see what the state will do, nor could we continue to polute the canals with feces and once we ruined our waterways then sewer the island. Most Marco residents know this and voted accordingly. The council did what they were suppose to do last night; they made a difficult and unpopular decision that was the right decision. Good Job!!

Written on 87-year-old Marco resident returns to Akron University:

Bedford is a true hero!!!!!!!

Written on Resident angered over Marco’s use of property:

dc, I agree with you, Guidry is a good Doctor and a good soldier who has fought for our country and saved many soldiers lives in Afghanistan and Iraq. That is what’s so puzzling about this immature behavior with the parking lot. He is a good guy who is just acting like a baby because he lost the election! The parking lot was NEVER an issue until AFTER the election. Andrew needs to grow up; he's lost a lot of patients and is bound to lose more with his juvenile behavior! Moreover, he is losing credibility and the respect of many people on this island.

Written on Dog ordinance to be unleashed on Marco:

gernblanstone, the STRP will not bankrupt the city you imbicile because it is being paid for by special assessments.

Written on Former contemporaries talk about Marco’s new ‘prince’:

Ms. Williams you did not do your homework on this one! The Mackle brothers NEVER intended Marco Island to be retirement commnity. In everything they wrote and everthing they said, they never said Marco was a retirement community but rather a mixed community for young families, tourists and small businesses and retirees...not a retirement community. The Mackles donated land for schools and parks. Your lack of research just fueled the CAVE DWELLERS shallow arguement about Deltonas development of Marco Island. Do your research and print the facts...please!!

Written on Marco council approves small mixed use development, multiple water facility upgrades:

balckwidow you anonymous coward; it is obvious you have never seen the city budget or a grammar book. If you did know anything about the city budget you wouldn't make such ridiculous statements. The city is in good financial shape, unlike you, I took the time to read the budget, you on the other hand just believe the garbage you heard from Hall and Neylon who made up fantasy numbers and created city debt for their failed campaigns. Why is it none of you idiots ever have the guts to print your name and say these kind of idiotic statements to Popoff or Gibson face to face?? You don't have the guts that's why. No real facts and no guts, just too much time on your hands…LOSER!

Written on Letter to the editor: Our dogs need a place to run:

At the last council meeting councilors Popoff and Forcht asked for dog parks to be brought up on a future agenda. Popoff then said that he wanted Marco Island to be a dog friendly city like Naples. While I don't relish the idea of dog doo doo everywhere, Naples doesn't seem to have a problem. As long as the fines for irresponsible dog owners is hefty enough I think a dog friendly Marco could work.

Written on The Farmer File: Does IQ really mean smarts?:

Great article Don. Foster is a mental midget with way too much time on his hands. He doesn't even live here but still is a fly in the ointment.

As for lolala and gang, the vocal minority is alive and well...just know that no one listens to you anymore!

Cavedweller alert has dropped to yellow.

Written on Letter to the editor: Nothing to fear but fear itself?:

Sayre, you must have been a professor of rhetoric! What an idiotic diatribe! The last election clearly stated that the majority supports Councilor Popoff and that you are in the very obnoxious vocal minority.

Written on Letter to the editor: Let’s help Chuck:

Kiester selectively deleted emails and recieved the maximum sentence...why are you trying to defend him? He is guilty, paid his fine, now let it go.

Written on Marco City Council mixed on security needs:

ED FOSTER YOU ARE A COWARDLY, DIM WITTED SHALLOW MAN.

You lost your court battles, lost your support and lost your supporters moneys and ran off like a coward.

For some unexplained reason you still feel the need to stick your fragile egotistical nose into Marco Politics.

You do realize that there was a landslide victory where over 5000 citizens said FINISH THE STRP and ENOUGH OF THE NEGATIVITY.

You Mr. Foster were the genesis of this Islands darkest hour.

Written on Collier judge finds Marco council member guilty of records violation:

dc, just look in the mirror to see a worm!

According to the Judge and the Prosecutor, Kiester selectively deleted emails. He is guilty of a Sunshine Violation and recieved the maximum penalty allowed by law.

Judge Carr said Kiester made a mockery of his courtroom, yet you still defend him. I guess worms stick together.

Once again your side has lost and you blame everyone else. Why not blame the guity party? None of the bloggers on this site deleted Kesters emails, he did it himself. Maybe he had help but he still chose to break the law.

If he had any integrity left at this point he would resign. There is no hate in this post, only facts.
