Great choice, but "Council's decision was unanimous (7-0) and made within about 15 minutes this morning." Was this really done in the sunshine? I think not.
Well said Mr Green, my thoughts exactly!
As a park this one is useless. Sell it and let Parks and Recreation use the funds at Veterans’ Community Park.
Issler, using your fuzzy math logic, Magel received 61% Batte 58% and Kiester and Forcht received 57% respectively but waite a minute that would bring the total percentage of the vote to 233%. Issler you are a complete idiot.
Lets be honest Mr. Green, the purpose of the information the Eagle provides is to create controversy where none should exist.
Kudos to Chairman Popoff for having Robert Glaub ejected from the council chamber. Glaub was totally out of line. Shame on you Bob.
Happy to hear all is well my friend, just take it ezeee.
Alfred Nobel wrote in his will that the prize be given “To the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies, and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses”
I think not.
JWP, never thought I'd see myself say this, but I also couldn't agree with you more about that flaming ultra liberal SOB in the White House.
Good grief, I can't believe I just agreed with you on something. Must be something in the water.
Mr. Sanchez was born 3/5/56 the Paris Peace Accords was signed 1/27/73, which would make Mr. Sanchez 16 when the Vietnam War ended. He was not eligible for service until 3/5/73. You want to debate that
Now that Canine Cove is in the works perhaps the council should revisit this decision to allow our canine friends access to our parks. This dog was on a leash and a child was injured, lets not waite until someone is more seriously injured. These parks were designed for people/children.
Mr. Issler, I am also part of the 62% you speak of and you do not speak for me or why I voted the way I did and if you think that you speak for anyone but yourself you are a bigger fool then I thought.
John, you are babbling, do you realize that you are talking to yourself. I think you have lost it. Please get back on your med's before its to late.
According to county tax rolls it shows that the taxes on the properties you morons refer to are were both paid on 11/26/08. Putnam you disgust me, most people would say it is "irresponsible” to shoot your mouth off when you don’t know what you are talking about.
By the way Mr. Putnam you stated in a previous blog that you were on Medicare. How did you pull that one off, according to county records you won’t be 65 until November, was it a mental disability that got you on Medicare early. Or are you just a BS artist.
The only rumors I have heard of are the unfounded babbling of a blogger who calls himself Shadow who constantly attacks council members with untruths and non issues.
As long as I have been a resident of Marco Island (20 years) it has been permissible to ride bicycles on sidewalks. I don’t see what the problem is, city ordinance prohibits parking in the swales at certain times and city ordinance prohibits blocking the sidewalk. These are not new ordinances they have been on the books for quite some time and most if not all residents are aware or should be aware of them. It doesn’t sound like harassment to me, sounds like the Police and Code Enforcement are doing their jobs. As I recall, at a recent council meeting the council asked for more enforcement from the Police Department and Code Enforcement on these issues.
Good grief Putnam, the only thing missing from your post is the violin music. Everybody is hurting a little, some more then others. Stop your crying and be thankful you have the resources to pay. Show a little compassion and stop hammering those that have fallen on hard times.
I believe the section of H.R. 3200 Mr Putnam was referring to is Sec. 1233 Pages 424-434. Not enough to make me want to leave this great country. In my opinion, H.R. 3200 as presently written will never make it to the White House for BO's signature.
I did not read the entire bill, just enough to make me sick and I don't believe anyone on capital hill read the entire bill either.
deltarome, you are without question a mentally challenged individual.
Ed, give the reporter a break, he obviously made a mistake, something we all do. Hell, look at some of the beauties you've made in the past few years.
Four verbal commitments but no written applications? Doesn't sound like many people are kicking down the door to get in on this boondoggle.
Shadow, you are an extremely sick person. You should really seek some professional help.
I did some research and found that the alleged charge against Ed Issler, referred to by MarcoJerko was dismissed. Therefore no record, those are the facts.
Last time I checked I was paying $3.62 per thousand gallons for water and after checking I find myself and the vast majority of the homes don’t have gutters all around their homes to collect the water, plus the way the cost of electricity is going up it could cost more to operate and maintain the pump then the savings will be.
We will collect most of the water during the rainy season when we don’t need it for irrigation, unless of course the proponents of this plan on drinking it and bathing in it. It just does not get me excited.
The water storage system the city of Marco Island has in place is more then adequate, I think I’ll pass on this idea.
As I recall the registered voters did vote on the STRP and that vote took place on January 29, 2008 when 4 anti-STRP candidates went down in flames.
If Mr. Perino wishes to vote on Marco Island issues, its simple. Declare residency and register to vote.
Very well explained Mr. Kiester, unfortunately it appears you are talking to landlords above, who care nothing about their neighbors, just making money.
Fossel, that is quite a conspiracy theory you have come up with. Good grief man did you read what you wrote before you blogged it? Again, what does the EMC have to do with Track K?
My money says this complaint goes nowhere.
Fossel, enlighten me, what does the electric municipalization committee have to do with the UET solar proposal with the school board on Track K? What benefit will UET receive from decisions made by the electric municipalization committee? Sorry I just can’t connect the dots.
Fossil, what the hell are you talking about? What unethical behavior? What inappropriate gain? What robbery?
