Please turn tract K into a ball park. Let the old guys play ball during the day and the kids after school. Have a soccer pitch/football field along with a baseball diamond.
The city and school board will do more by allowing this property to convert to a benign athletic park which will bring this beautiful community together, young and old. You don't even need bleechers let everyone bring their lawn chairs....the old fashioned way.....
Am I waxing rhapsodic for the good ole days? You bet I am....remember when we used to have fires on the beach?

Let me get this straight...My neighborhood gets rezoned as 'industrial' or 'special use' and already crummy property values fall even further. Who wants to buy property next to this thing?
Mr. Elliot gets a sweetheart deal from the City and School Board and use of public land for private industry all under the guise of, "it's for the children and the environment". And just where is all that funding coming from? The State? Oh, you mean the taxpayers?
Why doesn't Mr. Elliot find investors and buy land and erect his solar energy plant on land zoned for the use?
Turn tract K into a pocket park or something that takes into consideration the people who live nearby and not into an industrial zone benefitting an unproven private venture.

Those lights are hideous. I use my sun visor at night while driving the blvd. just to keep the glare out of my eyes. Instead of enhancing the blvd. they are an eyesore and driving hazard the way they are jammed in along the roadside.
I pity anyone living along Collier Blvd. having these lights blazing on them all night long.
Did we really need to replace with this many lights?Take out every third one and there still would be plenty of light...

After reading the emails on marcoislandblogspot it's pretty obvious who is running the show. We are living in OZ and have just glimpsed the man behind the curtain.
It's also pretty obvious our city leaders seem to be a bunch of castrated bulls. Not one seems to have the cajones to tell this guy to p*ss off.
By the way, I'm available for lunch and that deep sea fishing trip with Bill Moss and Steve Thompson that has been offered to be arranged. Simply pleasure, no business of course. I'll bring some worms. Or do you have that covered?
