klaus studerbaker.. this brings us to the $64,000.00 question... why are you here?

Written on The Vietnam Wall That Heals on Marco Island:

...did I touch a nerve there studerbaker?

Written on The Vietnam Wall That Heals on Marco Island:

if you invited the people of Vietnam to leave that country without persecution and come live in America I would say 99.9% of that population would be climbing over each other to come here.
Klaus Studerbaker you must understand one thing the conscience of this great nation is steeped in sacrifice and honor..(just ask those countries of europe that Germany destroyed in WWI and WWII) where as the conscience of your native Germany is... well.. to put it truthfully to you....yikes...keep drinking Studerbaker...

Written on State sues three Marco Island property owners, alleges docks illegally built :

Someone should inform the state that the Marco homeowner has been bled dry by the city, we have no more dough.

Written on Letter to the Editor: Seeking info on attack:

I am so sorry to hear that the sun times did that. What is wrong with them. Why was the attacker so protected in the media and not your daughter. Its just unacceptable. I hope Nacho Mamas when informed fired the man immediately. And I also hope the police looked at him as a possible suspect with the other case.

I no longer feel this island is the safe place it used to be when our city officials are not informing its residents and when attackers get away with just a slap on the hand.

Again, so sorry for what your daughter and your family had to endure. I am sure it has changed your lives forever.

Written on Letter to the Editor: Seeking info on attack:

The suntimes reported on it. I think i will use them for my real Marco Island news from now on.

It is scary to learn this is the 2nd time this has happened. It probably has happened more and it is not be reported and the crimes seem to go unpunished. 6 weeks is a joke and I wish you would say which restaurant because the silence hurts all of us and gives the criminal more power. And his picture should be posted in the paper.

Written on Letter to the Editor: Seeking info on attack:

I guess I an not on the citys email alert system. Maybe they should send out letters to let residents know that there is one.

Written on Letter to the Editor: Seeking info on attack:

How is it we did not hear this in the paper or on the news? Maybe there were witness's that would come forth and islanders should be told about this so we can be on the alert. Shame on the Eagle and the city for not informing its citizens.

I do not know if he will or will not prevail, but I know that their are a few very nervous city employees who are worried about depositions.

Bingo! I'm hoping those depositions will turn this into what it will be - a criminal investigation of Joel and his gang.

Written on Marco Island's sewer director cut as city continues to trim costs:

City Manager Jim Riviere continues to prove we finally have a city manager that cares about what is best for the island and its residents and is not working for personal agendas.

Hopefully also on his agenda is to re-name city hall after someone who actually did something that benefited Marco Island and its residents.

Written on Some veterans made it home only to lose their homes years later:

We fail as a nation and as a community by allowing veterans to be homeless. We seem to take better care of our inmates (shelter, food, tv, studies, exercise) than we do our vets. Where is the useless ACLU? Probably defending some outrageous freak somewhere.

Written on Marco resident takes on federal government, wins records lawsuit:

Great work Mario. I know this was not easy and probably very frustrating this whole time. This just proves how much we were lied to and how our city representatives like John Arceri, Moss, Tucker, Minnozi and Trotter had agendas and it had nothing to do with the preservation of the environment. They repeatedly lied to us and tried to hush and belittle those who questioned them and now we know why.

Written on The Farmer File: A no-brainer in Marco Island politics:

Blog; last we heard of Farmer he was writing columns with phrases that rhymed with shoo-bop and doo-wop, he has made progress.
Us Marco homeowners should never forget the things he wrote about us back during the STRP battle. He makes me sick.

Written on Mike Minozzi, former Marco Island council member, dies after cancer battle:

Mr Issler,
What did Mike Minozzi ever do for Marco Island that made him such a great leader and visionary?
Please be specific about these great things that helped Marco Island become such a better place. I am sure you have examples of things that have not cost the residents of this island dearly (because we all could sit there and vote yes to spend millions of taxpayers money and make things LOOK better - thats not hard and its definitely NOT visionary). Can't wait to learn about all great things he did that we can remember him as such a great city leader.

Written on City plagued by debt; audit reveals potential cash flow problems:

What a surprise! Its exactly what MITA and CARES (when they were around) have been saying. You can thank Mr Arceri, the late Mr Tucker and the late Mr Minozzi for all of this.

Written on POLL Marco Island’s interim manager Jim Riviere may stay on:

I have never been so satisfied with our city government as now. Its a breath of fresh air to feel like things are being taken care of professionally and responsibly and for the good of the island and its residents. I really hope things continue and maybe this can be paradise again. Thank you Mr Riviere - we all hope you stay on for as long as you can.

Written on Mike Minozzi, former Marco Island council member, dies after cancer battle:

in response to marcoislandres:

I have to disagree with you on this one Ed.
I think they may be remembered as two of the people who made some bad choices for this island.

I agree with you marcoislanders. Tucker, Minozzi and Arceri all made bad choices for this island. Unfortunately the residents will be paying a lot of money for those (what I believe to be personal agenda) choices for a long, long time. And as a marco island resident, neither Tucker, Minozzi or Arceri will be remembered by me as men who did good things for this island.

The train has left the station. Rest in peace.

Written on Marco Island City Hall shake up continues with removal of director:

For the first time in my 5 years living here - I feel the our city government is not making decisions based on personal agendas. We finally have a majority in council a city manager that actually care about doing what is best for residents of this Island. Arceri now only has 3 puppets - Waldack, Trotter and Gibson.

I hope their are more big changes to come. I may actually decide to stay here.

What a bunch of old foggy fools you all are! You think you are hurting the City employees; yet you are going to end up seriously hurting every single taxpayer on this island. My suggestion to you all: If you don't like it here, just move on; Golden Gate awaits you with open arms.
Only a bunch like you could be fooled by a second rate Professor from a third rate school.

My feeling is that John Arceri has hurt and cost every single taxpayer on this island more than any other single person. His personal agenda has cost all and will continue to cost us and this island greatly.

Those responsible for these crimes against humanity need to be held accountable. Thank you Mario for all Marco residents.

Written on EPA: Marco Island, company violated Clean Air Act by improperly handling asbestos :

Good job Mario!!!! Although I feel there are probably behind closed doors deals with the EPA and the city. Also, is the city paying for attorneys for Quality?

Written on Forensic audit response: Price tag a shocker, no fraud, no surprise:

The money spent on the audit is probably the best money our city has ever spent. No personal agendas, no personal financial gains by anyone. I have watched the video and Mr Kiesters questions they were not out of line at all. His point was the city lost public records (accidentally or intentionally destroyed) just as he had accidentally deleted some emails.

Question was and is: Aren't those city staff to be held accountable just as he had been? and if not, why not???
State and city laws were violated!!! An investigation should be implemended immediately.

Written on Forensic audit response: Price tag a shocker, no fraud, no surprise:

Get your head out of the sand. This was expensive??? - we find out our city finance dept does not (or really does) know what they are doing - just for that reason alone it was worth it. Sounds like the finance dept is a mess. And having Bill Harrison back in the dept before the audit was the fox guarding the hen house.

But if you are talking about an expensive drama - what about the $42 MILLION DOLLAR (and still counting) pricetag of the un-necessary STRP that was shoved down our throats. All for special interest and what I believe to be personal financial gain by those who pushed for it so hard. It has reaked havoc on our island not the mention the financial burden on most of our island residents.
