That is all you have goober? You just attack people instead of actually debating the topic at hand? Speaks volumes of your lack of character, manners and intelligence.

No goober, where I'm from a big man needs a lot of space. You must run in a different crowd worrying about deficiencies. The driveway sure comes in handy with 11 registered vehicles making $$$$$$$$$$$$. Got anything better?

Actually goober, that would be more hours everyday at my 2 businesses. But I am happy that I am able, I won't be asking you or anyone else for a handout, and I sleep quite well at the end of the day. Thanks for the recognition though. Maybe I should just rent out rooms in my 5 bdrm and kick back eh? I have a very large driveway. ISLANDMAN4EVER! Has a nice ring to it.

Written on Can Marco regulate rudeness?:

gbr, what neighborhoods do you think should be permitted the rentals, a perfect fit? I am going to say the estates as the properties are larger and would help lessen the impact on neighbors. Most of the "working class" neighborhoods have people living in them that must get up early for work, and get children off to school. Agree?

To sum up #15, you are clueless. I work hard for mine 7 days a week. And when I need more money to make ends meet I work even more. My choice to live here. If you cannot afford to live here on "sunshine" wages, you do not belong here. Will we get a better quality employee by making homes cheaper for the employee? Or would it be better to attract an employee who has been successful elsewhere and can afford to live here in good times as well as now in the bad times when homes are dirt cheap? I bet you were all for the CRA too. We see where that got America. NO THANKS.

I am not familiar with the program but affordable housing does not eliminate the cost of living associated with this area. The mortgage payment is only one part of the index. The last time I checked the cost of living index for Marco was 169, with 100 being the average city index. Wages here are lower than most other areas of the country, even for professionals, because of the access to cheap labor. Homes are available here now at prices lower than when I moved here in 2002. If you can't afford the area, live elsewhere.

Written on Marco's dark morning:

ed, i have had power restored very quickly after every major storm. within hours of the storm passing, not days. probably quicker after charley than it took to repair that underground line. and once everything is under standing water and we have high water tables from a tropical system do you really think they'll be digging?

Written on Marco's dark morning:

"They determined that the damaged was in an underground line".

five hours to fix an underground line. how long if it wasnt underground, less than an hour?
