In my books the council have made a good decision on this one.By not allowing the minority destroy the lives of the majority.The Esplanade was always going to be a meeting place with some sort of entertaiment and what a great place it is.I congratulate the council members who voted in favour of allowing music and welcome you to the year 2009.There is so much gloom and doom at the moment,surely we should be allowed to let our hair down now and then.Remember this is the fun place called Marco Island not a refuge for miserable old farts.Have fun in the sun or buy some ear defenders for 5 bucks.Have a nice day.

Jaguar, Why not defend your "Flophouse Renters" some more. I have an idea, everyone should pave around their homes so there is parking for all including your "Renters". This way we can all be assured that your income will not be disturbed.

My rental income is not the issue here nor is it of any importance to me I neither rely or need it.This is about illegal and inconsiderate parking that could result in injury to a child or an eldery person and God knows there are plenty of those on the Island.Lets just consentrate on this please.Save your usual drivel for another day and discuss the issue in front of you.

Why did I know as I read this article it would be the short term renters fault,some of you are just beyond belief.I suspose its also the renters fault that theres noise at the Esplanade.Oh and while your at it the road surfaces are wearing thin that must be the renters.Remember what,s good for the Goose is good for the Gander.Rules are rules for everyone.As for MARCUP ISLAND having some Gestapo like tendancies, this has been evident for a few years now.I,m suprised this had,nt been noticed before by more of you.

Low tourist numbers well What a suprise I bet the Marco Islanders who want to stop short term rentals will be having a parade soon to mark their success in driving them away.Jack Wert perhaps you should attend the next meeting on Marco then you would see with your own eyes and hear with your own ears why tourists are giving Marco a miss.

Mr B sorry for the delay in replying,but the last few days have been a little hectic.Have now moved to London and staying in a local flop house called CLARIDGES.I tell you now I am not charging enough for my place on Marco.Anyway with regard to the scared bit,I have to admit yesterday whilst watching Serena I really did have a major one, would you believe I nearly spilt strawberries and cream all down my Ralphy shirt but managed to get it in my mouth at the last moment phew a close encounter eh".Went last night to see Oliver at the Theatre Royal in Drury Lane absolutely wonderful you should try it.My hosts were grateful for your concern about their accommadation whilst in Florida,but said not worry they find their property in Port Royal comfortable enough and would,nt want to impose on me,but thanks anyway.Must go now just off to see Roddick thrash Chardy.Always got time for old friends what have you been up to? Greetings from the U.K.Because of the sheer exhaustion of replying to your stupid blogs over the past few months my Wife and I have decided to do a European tour and are staying with some friends we actually met on Marco who live here in England.Anyway I am sat over looking the sea in a place called Sandbanks that is situated on the south coast apparently one of the most expensive pieces of real estate in the world,(Google it) oops there I go again on about money.As you correctly say there is a world recession,but believe it or not tourists are welcomed with open arms here, I can rent a property here for 1week,2weeks or even a month.The restaurants are packed the boats are full and life is wonderful no idiots like you here.Considering it was Christopher Columbus who discovered the good old U.S.A it would seem that some of us have gone backwards in our train of thought as how to keep the local economy going.Here they are doing just fine.Keep the blogs coming its just such a fantastic source of amusement to us and our hosts. regards Jaguar and have a nice day.

Is this the start of the decline regarding tourists and people thinking of buying here. Perhaps if we encouraged them to visit instead of trying to drive them away, we could survive this economy.Remember BAD NEWS TRAVELS FAST and with all the negative news from Marco recently it was always going to take its toll on this islands businesses.
