I am out of town but the question I would like to ask is what kind of guarantee do the residents of Marco Island have that once the bridge is completed, that it is not sold in the future as was the "alligator alley" put up for sale to a private entity. I would also ask how are the residents protected against future "tolls" on the bridge. The design is secondary to the overall impact this could have for the residents. I for one have seen this bridge as not necessary for Marco Island. It is being built as part of goverment spending that somehow in the future will have to be paid back. This bridge will change the island forever, and I do not think for the best. Four lanes of traffic that flood onto Collier Blvd then go where? Collier will become the "on ramp" to the "bridges". I think nobody has asked any of these questions.
