i guess my first question is has any other city had disgruntled employees claiming what ever to get money from us the tax payers? You know there are hundreds of them, and by the amount it looks like Morine did not get much. Stop and think about it, how long has this case been going on? How much is his attorney going to get? Oh and I hear there is an ex-wife who may claim alot of back child support from this moron, be happy he is gone Marco, you will not have to pay someone like him again. I bet he has not had a job since he was removed from MIPD.
ok I am confused, why are some of you upset because some of the police officers held full time jobs somewhere else, retired after 10-30 years and then came to FL getting away from a scum invested, crime ridden city's where their lives were in jeopardy and then took a job where they can actually enjoy being in law enforcement? And for the record, Capt Baer did not make the necessary changes in the department's regulations, he was not a Capt at that time, which proves the point, Hunter has no clue what happened in his department prior, nor has he even bothered to educate himself, meet his police officers, etc. Hunter has never bothered to meet his police staff in the time he has been there, does that sound strange? And for those of you who think there are 30 officers, you are probably right, BUT they do not work all at the same time. You may have 4 officers on duty in each 12 hour shift with a supervisor IF someone on the same shift decided to take a day off, goes to training, etc. Geez, some of you are so sad!
i just love the way some bloggers say city staff will come up with ways to spend money, they do not vote these issues like the bridge, council does! I would like to see IF a bridge is really needed, just rebuild the bridge and leave all the upgrades off the design.
who is responsible for the idea? Ask Bill Trotter who has so many budget meetings he is driving city staff crazy. Control freak, and trust me, Trotter, Magel and Waldack are going through the budget line by line and costs are being cut, attend one of the many meetings, 1 or 2 a week, MI Homeowners has been there along with others
Patience people. Give Collier County & MIPD the chance to do their investigations. Just because one officer has an accident does not mean they all have or all of them need driver safety training. Do not lump them all together, give them a break.
JohninMarco, so the City of Naples has one code officer, are you sure? Well, the City of Naples has over 70 police officers, what about that big boy? Gladesgator, you must have changed your email blog name, have you ever heard the term, walk in my shoes, call Liz Carr, bet you are fat and could not keep up. And as for benefits check out what the city pays and as far as pensions, what pensions, police and fire get those. You just want to spew negativity and I would bet you have not even bothered to call and check what city employee benefits really are. Ask them big man/woman, oh I forgot you do not believe anything city employees would say would you, they are all liars. Feel sorry for you and as for MarcoIslandGuy, he identified himself, brother, most of you negative bloggers would not understand brotherly love or support. I understand what you are doing MarcoIslandGuy, kinda like a mother bear, do not mess with my family. Hey did gladesgator identify himself, NOT, so sad, no back bone. Now is someone going to ask who I am?
rolo, you would think you would be used to that taste considering your blogs.
islandeye#, I bet she expects it too! At least it gives the negative bloggers something to do!
RayPray, since you seem to know so much about what kind of funding the city is footing for law suits, come up with some facts, the drugstore? hmmm seems like that case has been dismissed alot, check it out, unfortunately the so called pharmacist/owner can not seem to get his way with the court system to make anything stick because he has nothing, just another bad apple trying to line his pockets like other people who sue for no reason and as for morine, yea, ask those that worked for him, what a loser! Be glad he is gone, but he seems to have a problem with making money these days because he may have to do a real days work!
JohninMarco, so bitter, just bite not to be a real cop anytime in your life. As for the goodby party for the past chief, I urge you to check it out, city did NOT pay for it and as for the captain planning this one, hmmmm, guess the CManager may be behind it and much more that you will find out soon enough!!
august8 you must be kidding, thompson being exonerated is a joke. He was wrong and a detective was not the only person involved with the investigation. thompson has a short man problem and I would bet he did not tell his Lt or Capt the whole truth when he called them, he has been caught not doing the right thing before and it will be interesting watching him when Hunter starts, you sound like a union rep August8 which means you would not tell anyone you represented they were wrong, union people are like that, no problem, been around union people all my life but sometimes who you represent are just the bad guys. Your comment based on media reports he should be exonerated, wow are you really saying you believe what is in the papers!
Liberator100, apparently ba10da69 can not read either, the article states Thompson contacted his superiors which were Lt Goetz and Captain Baer. Remember chain of command, the chief after meeting with Joey began the internal investigation by his staff and made his decision on demoting Thompson following that seems like you just have a vendetta with the chief ba10da69.
shadow you are showing your ignorance making that comment about police uniforms and what is required and MarcoIslandWoman/Man, what are you saying again, "Chief Carr does not have a payroll" the city does but then again you are not American, probably one of those people who lived in a country the US helped at one time.
Kosherdeli, you might want to check your facts before you spew the city paid for the retirement party for Chief Carr. Donations were accepted and appreciated from staff, friends and organizations. And as for DUI' that would have been a stretch, there was no alcohol but you would have not known that because obviously you were not a friend.
