I wish! At city employees salary I would have it made.

The husky one as you say, has nothing to do with this. She is the victim of this fool.
The winnie whacker was caught with his pants down. He should have been terminated for flashing his pee pee. He is apparently liked so he was rewarded with a civilian position. What the hell. Only on Marco. The winnie whacker has no shame. He should get his behind out of town. We have too many kids on this island and this guy does not belong. Retired as as Policeman now he can probably get another 401k as a civilian. This is a disgrace.
in response to KlausStoertebeker: Another outstanding job of our keystone cops.I guess they are stimulated by President Barack Obama the GREAT doing an outstanding job as catastrophe manager too.No doubt - the winner is President Barack Obama the GREAT!

Hell of a reply. Short sweet and right on.
The PD of Marco is lucky to have this foundation. I hope they appreciate it!
95 dollars for a parking ticket is outta control. Why not make it a thousand might as well.
9/9/9
Steve is a gentleman. An awesome person. Good luck always.
I say double the police budget. Get them a helicopter too.
A few more dollars a year would be worth it.
Eat more Nathan's.
How the heck did this subject go from the PD to Nazis, Vietnam etc. Frickin unreal. Concentrate on the next law suit coming up. Another cop was made to resign, fired or whatever so here comes another one. SWFL news article.
in response to RayPray: In case you missed the funniest story of the week, not covered here, Marco's lavishly-priced Keystone Kops are now to be donated body armor. http://www.coastalbreezenews.com/2012... Marco Island? Body armor!!! Who knows how many of those octogenarians our fearless shamuses stop for racing 31 mph around the island might be packing assault rifles packing jungle clips?

Ray strikes again. Get them Ray get them!
in response to RayPray: "Carr leaving or being forced to resign was a blessing to the deputies and the citizens of Marco." This sounds good, but the Carrs didn't drop from the sky. What about the government morons who hired this pair, kept promoting them, handing them certificates of empty achievement?

You are 100% correct.
in response to KlausStoertebeker: What's wrong with you. There is a poor woman raped by a horny out of control guy. And you guess she is lying. Why shall she do so? Poor woman. I have no sympathy for any kind of sex offenders.

Just saying. Hard to proof. Not calling her anything.

10-1 this case goes no where.
So sad, so young.
Who is the handsome fellow in the picture?
I say we make it 10 miles per hour. No driving permitted.
Marco coppers getting involved in civil matters. Not good!
Why is it that it's always the COPS fault? Let someone else get the blame for some of the dumb choices made. No i'm not a cop lover, i'm just saying!
35 mph is reasonable. 30 in residential area. People are driving 25 in the 30 zone.
Marco's Finest!
Stand Your Ground Once Again.
Switch to chewing tobacco!
Poor Rod Dippolito. Assistant Chief Dave Baer will have a field day with him.
in response to marco97: Why do we need Police auxiliary officers, why do we need this police force.
Why do we need Police auxiliary officers, why do we need this police force.
You are so right and there are more auxiliary officers than policeman. Talk about neighborhood crime watch that is exactly what these new auxiliary officers are.
in response to KlausStoertebeker: 100 % agree.
100 % agree.
Me too. Let's get the ball rolling and get back CCSO.
Best thing to do is not pay for the parking ticket.
MO MONEY!!!!! SPEND MO MONEY!!!!
This guy is a good Detective and has his act together. I have had the opportunity to speak with him and he is no dummy. Big loss to PD.
Joe is not a model citizen by any means. Having said that, he never shoulda been arrested based on the information the PD had at hand. The city is lucky Joe worked something out with them so that he would not sue. Just saying!
Sergeant Thompson got lucky Hunter was not in the house at the time of the arrest. Hunter fired him once before and woulda taken the opportunity to get rid of him again. Sergeant Thompson is walking on eggshells.
in response to Throat_Yogurt: In an accident like this, EMS would have taken blood to determine if drugs/alcohol played any part in this. I'll assume this wasnt done bc he's a cop. $68K salary...no wonder our police budget is in the millions.

$68K is one of the salaries. Some salaries are over $75K and above according to city records.
in response to marco97: After the next election the police dept. will be history.
After the next election the police dept. will be history.
Hope ur right!
Water on the Island is more expensive than oil. God help us all.
Rumors are that the Captain of Police is destroying the morale of the agency. Maybe giving this guy the boot would be a great start. When Hunter leaves, putting this guy in his place would be a disaster.
This is terrible. The way things are now a days this could be devastating to this man and his family. Demotion in rank would have suffice if in fact violations occurred.
Johnny is back in action. End of story.
Your mama told me one day you will be a man, Go Johnny Go! Training ahould be very good this time around since the police dept, I heard, has a so called training Lieutenant or Sergeant not sure earning over 80 grand who sits in the office. What a waste of money.
in response to marcofriend: Well, the police department might as well cost us money too. We have out of control continual spending from our City government, our public utility is costing us an arm and a leg and they still are hiding the true costs that everyone will be picking up. I'm a pro-city person, but I think we're getting to the edge of the cliff and the City will not be sustainable with the leadership we have. We have three City Councilers who have either been forclosed on or are in foreclosure (check collierclerk.com) and they want to "lead" us in the right direction by showing us how to spend money.

Very well said friend.
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeres Johnny.
in response to ed34145: How arrogant to just change the limits on his own and without any notification to the public. But, what do you expect from a fake city manager? Have you ever seen his license plate? Geezzz.......Time we hired a professional.......

30 MPH is out of hand. It will create road rage. Drivers with little or no patience will not tolerate following cars doing 30 or a little less. Sad.
120 miles an hour for ANY reason is plain STUPID. Having said that, the trooper went a little too far on this one.
in response to woods311: Why does everyone consider this a tragedy? Without trying to minimize the grief and loss to his friends and family, consider the possibility of a blessing. An 80 year old who suffered a stroke, avoided sitting in a health care facility, for who knows how long, under what conditions, while he and his family suffer, and his bank account is cleaned out. There are worse things than dying, keep politics out of it. Blessed be.

You are a BIG A H.
Congrats! This lady is a hustler.
in response to MSmith: I just read the city wants over 100k for more police vehicles. #1 stop!!!!!!! crashing them. And I read every one wants to cut the PD in half. This would not be the right thing to do. If they reorganize the police department this would be great. The Capt has not done one bit of real police work since 2000. Look it up on the county web site. He’s really getting his 100k worth. As for the Admin Lt., he’s not far behind. They have a police officer who is in charge of computers. And from what I heard from the Officers, the computers never work. This computer guy has never left his office since 2003. I was told this cop doesn’t even have a gun. They have two full time detectives who are retired and only do the work they are assigned, that has to be very little. I hope Hunter sees the writing on the wall and makes some changes. I was just told last week that they have two permanently assigned marine patrol officers. Come on, they have not done anything worth talking about except waist marine fuel. Please put these cops on the street where they can do there job and hold them accountable. The police are here to help and serve the community not just sit behind a computer screen or a desk and collect an outrageous pay check. And as for the officers that lost there jobs they will go through the process and eventually be paid off or will be back to work.
