A group of people, officials from the Collier County Sheriff's Office, city of Naples Natural Resources and the Pelican Bay Foundation worked through the morning to keep alive and rescue a manatee that was stranded at Clam Pass in North Naples Monday morning. The manatee had been there all night kept alive by two fisherman pouring water over it from accounts at the scene. The manatee which was over 10 feet in length and estimated to be more than a thousand pounds finally freed itself around 10:00 am with the cooperation of many people.
