Dr. John S. Shenk and his son, John W. Shenk, of Pennsylvania have developed near-infrared technology that is helping golf courses determine when their grass needs to be fertilized. They were at Grey Oaks Country Club from March 2-4 working on a mobile prototype of the technology.
