Lynda Redhead Goldie passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023, in Asheville, NC. Mrs. Goldie was born and raised in Cortland, Ohio, and was the daughter of Aimee and William Redhead. Lynda graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University, where she was a member of the prestigious educational honor society Kappa Delta Pi; a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma; and a Senior Advisor, selected for character, service, and scholarship. She married James (Jim) Matthew Goldie, of Youngstown Ohio, in 1956. Lynda enjoyed a career in Education, primarily teaching second grade; worked for the Bicentennial Commission of Mahoning County; and spent time in Real Estate. While in Youngstown, Lynda was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, where she served as secretary-treasurer of the nursery school and president of her Sunday school class. She was a board member, provisional chairman, and recording secretary of the Junior League of Youngstown; an executive committee member of the American Heart Association’s Eastern Ohio Chapter; and a member of the Youngstown Country Club. In the late 1980s, she and Jim relocated to Naples, Florida, where she was a member of Moorings Presbyterian Church, The League Club of Naples, and The Club at Barefoot Beach. Lynda is survived by two daughters, Jill and Jennie--married to Scott Foster, of Asheville, NC. A memorial service for immediate family will take place at The Cathedral of All Souls on March 23rd, and a Celebration of Life in honor of Lynda and Jim will be held on March 25th.
