1. Saturday: Discover Tigertail
Friends of Tigertail present “Discover Tigertail,” from 9 a.m. until noon, Saturday, Feb. 25.
A program for all ages, about the marine life and other wildlife that inhabit the Tigertail Beach Lagoon. Feel the shell
of a loggerhead turtle, spot the wading birds with a telescope, see the osprey in their nest from the new wildlife viewing tower, hear about wildlife rehabilitation, complete a half mile walk/run; learn about the birds, plants and seashells that are found here. Meet the specialists from Collier County Sea Turtle program, Rookery Bay Reserve, Conservancy of Southwest Florida, Marco Shell Club and Tommie Barfield PTO.
The event is free and open to the public.
2. Sunday: Tour de Marco
The 7th Annual Tour de Marco is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 26. Check-In is at 7 a.m. for the 30-mile bike ride and 8 a.m. for the 5 and 15 mile riders. The event concludes at the YMCA. All riders must wear a bike helmet, follow all rules of the road and complete a registration application. Free giveaways, goodie bags, refreshments and the first 150 registered will receive a free event t-shirt. Registration fees are $35 individual and $50 families (up to four individuals). Register at the Greater Marco Family YMCA, 101 Sand Hill Street until 9 p.m., Friday, Feb. 24 or on day of event.
3. Treasures in the Trunk sale, fundraiser
From 8 a.m. until noon, Saturday, Feb. 25, the San Marco Columbiettes will host a Treasures in the Trunk sale and fundraiser in the parking lot of the San Marco Parish Center.
Vendors must be set up by 7:30 a.m. Don’t miss this opportunity to sell your new, used or antique treasures from the trunk of your vehicle.
The cost will be $15 per vehicle parking spot and $10 additional if you wish to rent a table to place at the rear of your vehicle. Vendors may purchase more than one spot if they wish to do so. All merchandise not sold must be removed by the vendor.
Refreshments and home baked items will be available for purchase; a 50/50 drawing will take place at 11 a.m. You do not need to be present for drawing.
