1. Tuesday: Age-related macular degeneration
Iberia Bank has partnered with Bascom Palmer Eye Institute (BPEI) to host Jaclyn L. Kovach, M.D., who will review the clinical features, risk factors, and treatment options for age-related macular degeneration (AMD). She will also discuss the AMD clinical trials conducted at BPEI Naples for which she is the principal investigator. The Health Plus Lecture will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the IK branch located at 605 Bald Eagle Drive on Marco Island.
The event will begin with a reception at 5:30 p.m. and the formal presentation will start at 6. There is a $3 admission fee.

2. Thursday and Friday: Dueling pianos
March 2-3, Marco Lutheran’s artist series presents a special concert event, featuring the flying fingers of Lucille Gaita and John Davis, along with guest vocalist Craig Greusel.
Enjoy music from ‘60s, ‘70s, sing-alongs, and other crowd favorites. Shows are at 7:30 p.m. at MLC Great Room, 525 N. Collier Blvd. Tickets are $20 reserved seating and can be purchased in person at MLC’s ticket desk, 525 N. Collier, noon until 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
3. This weekend: 14th Annual RC Laser Midwinter Championship Regatta
The Marco Island Model Yacht Club (MIMYC) in conjunction with the City of Marco Island Department of Parks and Recreation will hold the 14th Annual RC Laser Midwinter Championship Regatta March 4-5 at Mackle Park, Marco Island. Entries are limited to 30. Entries may be submitted online at jotformpro.com/form/70005012052938?preview=true. Entry fee includes skipper’s Saturday and Sunday lunch, sodas and water, awards and gift.
Come see the best RC/LASER skippers from the United States. Participants come from as far as Minnesota, Boston, Maryland, Bahamas, Maine, New York, Tennessee and New Jersey.
