Art of Carolyn Burger on display now
The art of local artist Carolyn Burger will be featured at the Marco Players Theater Gallery during the run of the current production of “Driving Miss Daisy” from now until April 2.
Burger is a professional artist who lives on Marco Island. She began taking painting classes 15 years ago after retiring as an elementary principal and director of special education in northeast Ohio.
Burger fell in love with painting the nature and landscapes of Marco Island and feels so blessed to have discovered her passion for art.
“Learning to see the beauty and colors all around me and putting it on canvas has made my life so much fuller,” she said.
Burger is known for her colorful paintings of Florida scenes whether it is the sky, the water, the flowers and trees or the wildlife which makes Marco Island such a gorgeous place to live. She has recently begun to express this love of the natural world through abstract paintings which she finds stimulates her creativity as well as a whole lot of fun.
Burger paints with a variety of mediums including oils, acrylics, watercolor, pastel and pen and ink. Experimentation and painting many different subjects is one of her traits.
Burger is an active member of Marco Island Center for the Arts, the Marco Island Outdoor Artists, the Marco Island Foundation for the Arts and the Goodland Arts Alliance. She was also a participating artist in the Artist Colony at the Esplanade on Marco Island from 2009 until 2012.
Visitors are welcome to arrange an appointment to visit her home studio at 282 Sand Hill Street on Marco Island by calling 239-389-0280. You can also find her participating in local art shows and special art events.
