1. Tomorrow: JRobert at Rose History Auditorium

Julius Robert Houghtaling or JRobert as he is known by most.

Just as Key West claims Jimmy Buffet, Marco Island has its own very special Island talent: Julius Robert Houghtaling or JRobert as he is known by most. If you’ve never heard of him (and even if you have), plan on seeing his latest production, “The Florida Fiddler Show,” 7 p.m., May 10 at Rose History Auditorium.

Singer, songwriter and musician extraordinaire, JRobert takes you on a musical journey through old Florida via classic folk songs and fiddle tunes (“Orange Blossom Special,” “Suwanee River,” and “Turkey in the Straw”) passed down from generation to generation. His program also includes more contemporary selections (“Rhythm is Gonna Get You,” “Margaretville” and “Hot, Hot, Hot”), as well as his own original work.

Rose History Auditorium is located at 180 S. Heathwood Drive, across from the library.
