1. Tonight: Hot Summer Nights

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is hosting its sixth Hot Summer Nights event Friday, July 21 from 6 to 9 p.m. at McLeod Park, 208 S. Copeland Ave., Everglades City. Kids can come jump around in the police car bounce house, go rock wall climbing, play corn hole games or have an epic battle with friends at the water balloon and gun station. For the older kids, there will be karaoke and two inflatable giant screens: one to watch a movie and the other to play Wii games. Hot dogs and popcorn will also be available. Don’t forget – it’s all free!

2. Monday: Meals of Hope happy hour

Marco Island Meals July “Happy Hour for Hope” will be from 5 until 7 p.m., Monday, July 24, at Stonewalls, 551 S. Collier Blvd., Marco Island. Live entertainment will be provided by Rosetta Stone. Marco Meals of Hope is a joint effort of Kiwanis, Noontime Rotary and Sunrise Rotary Clubs. Admission to Happy Hour for Hope is $10 and everyone is invited. Information: 239-642-6020 or mohmi.org.

3. Monday: J.Robert Songwriter Showcase

The J.Robert Florida Songwriter Showcase is on stage every Monday from 7 until 10 p.m., now through Aug. 28 at The Marco Players Theater, Marco Town Center Mall, 1089 N. Collier Blvd., Marco Island. Advance tickets are $30 each for reserved seating and $35 at the door. Buy individual tickets or a package at TheMarcoPlayers.com or call the box office at 239-642-7270. Each show includes a performance, intermission, Q & A with the musician, and jam session. During the shows, the musicians will share personal stories about Florida heritage that inspired their songwriting and their musical talents. This week's performer is Ray Cerbone.
