March 23: ITC presents ‘Nana's Naughty Knickers’

Special to the Eagle

The Island Theater Company's upcoming comedy “Nana's Naughty Knickers” opens March 23.

Written by Katherine DiSavino, the show is about Bridget and her grandmother, who are about to become roommates in Nana's rent controlled Upper East Side New York apartment. However, what Bridget saw as a unique opportunity to stay with her favorite Nana for the summer quickly turns into an experience she’ll never forget. It seems her sweet Grandma is running an illegal boutique from her apartment, selling hand-made naughty knickers to every senior citizen in the five-borough area.

The Island Theater Company's upcoming comedy “Nana's Naughty Knickers” opens March 23. Written by Katherine DiSavino, the show is about Bridget and her grandmother, who are about to become roommates in Nana's rent controlled Upper East Side New York apartment.

Carol Lewis, as Sylvia Charles, a senior living like she's in her early 20s. The mastermind behind Saucy Slips, Etc., and the proud tenant of a rent controlled apartment. Lewis' last role was as Martha Brewster in “Arsenic and Old Lace.”

Judy Daye, as Vera Walters, Sylvia's aged accomplice who is equipped with two hearing aids and a collapsible walker. Daye is a local favorite of the Marco theater community. Her last featured role was as "Abby Brewster" in Arsenic and Old Lace followed by a small part in the musical “Saga of Roaring Gulch.”  You are guaranteed to enjoy Judy's "Vera" during this play.

Abby Yetter, Bridget Charles, is Syliva's unsuspecting, 20-something, soon-to-be law-student granddaughter. Over the last 22 years, Yetter has performed in over 50 shows with community, regional, and Equity theaters around the country. She has privately studied voice since the age of nine and has studied acting since she was seven. Yetter’s most recent role was playing Miss Hannigan in ITC's “Annie, Jr.” She was also featured in the 2nd Annual Singing Broadway. She currently gives private lessons to evolving vocalists from her home studio on Marco Island.

Ron Trebilcock, as Tom O'Grady, the newest cop on the force, happily assigned the beat where Sylvias's apartment is. This is Trebilcock's first role on Marco Island. Coincidentally, Trebilcock’s first two TV roles were playing cops.

John Moulton, as Gil Schmidt, plays the overly eager landlord who is trying to rid himself of his aged tenants. Moulton made his stage debut in “Mama Won't Fly” and has been performing in many ITC's productions ever since. Some favorite roles you may remember seeing him in include “Blame It On Beckett,” “Saga of Roaring Gulch,” and “Arsenic and Old Lace.”

Catherine Clausen-Neff plays Heather Van Pree, an employee of Saucy Lips who is always looking for her lost boxes and her dream job as a model. Clausen-Neff was bitten by the acting bug when she was cast in her first production “Mama Won’t Fly.” She has appeared in ITC's productions of “Bridesmaids,” “Saga of Roaring Gulch” and “Arsenic and Old Lace.” It's always great to have Cathy back on the ITC stage.

Carol Clarke, Clair is a "big" client of Saucy Slips Etc. She was first cast in ITC's opening season in “A Bad Year for Tomatoes” and last season's “Men Are Dogs.” This is her third production with the Island Theater Company.

Also featured in the production is Jay Terzis, as the slightly bored and always sarcastic voice who can be heard from the downstairs front desk.
