Marco Island Center for the Arts to host Gulfshore Opera singers

Submitted

The Marco Island Center for the Arts is proud to present an evening of opera featuring Steffanie Pearce, general director and founder of Gulfshore Opera.

Steffanie Pearce

Pearce is a producer, director, performer and teacher of the great art form of opera. Before focusing her energy on directing operas, Pearce enjoyed a long international singing career with famed opera companies, including Opera de Marseille, Opera Lisboa, Opera Colorado, The Opera Company of Philadelphia, and San Diego Opera. She's also performed at renowned theaters such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center and the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.

'Emerging artists' Teddy Collins, D’Ariel Barnard and Giana Di Pietro will also perform.

Collins, tenor, moved to Naples without any musical experience. He started training with Pearce in 2013 and is one of the original members of the Gulfshore Tenors. Collins has performed secondary roles in professional productions with Gulfshore Opera.

Barnard, soprano, is new to Gulfshore Opera and performed in its latest production of Carmen. She recently moved to SWFL from NYC where she frequently performed with Utopia Opera in Sondheim’s Assassins and other productions.

Di Pietro, soprano, developed a love for music and singing at the young age of four. She started voice training with Pearce in 2015 when she was just 10 years old. She is a member of the Naples Philharmonic Youth Chorus and performs in Gulfshore Opera’s Community Concerts and the opera chorus.
