3 To Do: Taste of Collier, one final Bingo, more

1. Second Tuesday: ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors’ exhibit featured

Marco Island Center for the Arts invites the public to Rock, Paper, Scissors, featuring work by three artists. The exhibition will include work by Lucrezia Bieler, Angelika Kade and Joanna Sunshine.

The rock section is represented by German born sculptor, Angelika Kade.

The show’s title refers to the ancient hand game of Chinese origin and is a popular recreation enjoyed by children and adults the world over. The show is divided into three sections. Rock or stone has been used since early times for sculpture. Paper is known for its flexible nature for 2D and 3D art. Scissors are used for the cutting and folding of various materials.

There will be a reception from 5:30 until 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 8. There is a suggested $10 donation for non-members.

The exhibit runs through May 29. Marco Island Center for the Arts is located at 1010 Winterberry Drive, Marco Island.

2. Sunday: Taste of Collier at Bayfront Park

From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 6, at Bayfront, 1221 Fifth Ave. S., Naples.

This event will feature live music by area musicians, cooking demonstrations by local chefs, samples by local restaurants in Collier County and other family friendly activities.

Cost is $5 per person includes access to live entertainment and cooking demonstrations, children 10 and under are free.

Food and beverage tickets can be purchased separately at tasteofcollier.com or on-site at the event.  

3. Final Monday Night Bingo of the season

One more chance. The final Monday Night Bingo for the season is Monday, May 7.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and bonanza is posted at 6:15 and the game is called at 7.

Bob Chrystal of Marco Island was a big winner at JCMI's Monday Night Bingo. Committee member Evie Levin hands him his winnings. Only one Bingo left, May 7.

The Bingo Committee serves a complimentary supper of a kosher hot dog on a special roll, sauerkraut, relish, pickles, chips, fruit, coffee, tea, ice cream and pastries.

Gift certificates are available, perfect for all occasions. The game is open to the public.
