3rd Annual Salute to Veterans

Spring Concert in gymnasium at Marco Island Charter Middle School, 1401 Trinidad Ave., 6 p.m.,  Tuesday, May 22. There will be a flag from each of the five branches of the military displayed and each branch’s song as well as other patriotic songs will be played. The public is welcome and admission is free.

Memorial Day Ceremony

From 11 a.m. until noon, Monday, May 28, at Veterans Community Park, 901 Park Avenue, Marco Island. Bring your lawn chairs.

Happy Hour for Hope

5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, at Old Marco Pub and Restaurant, 1105 Bald Eagle Drive, Marco Island. Admission is $20. Happy Hours for Hope are fundraisers for Marco Island’s Meals of Hope. The $20.00 admission fee helps the organization buy food for its packaging event in November. 239-642-6020.

Agave Naples’ Pig Roast

6 p.m., Wednesday, May 30, at Agave, 2380 Vanderbilt Beach Road, Naples. Camp Mackle

The City of Marco Island Parks and Recreation Department is taking registration currently, for Camp Mackle 2018. Camp Mackle is a summer camp program for children entering first grade through fifth grade. Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Camp Mackle will begin Friday, June 1 and end on Aug. 14. Camp Stellar is the summer camp for youth 6th through 8th grades. 

Naples Sugden Stride 5k

7 to 10 a.m. Saturday, June 9, at Sugden Regional Park, 4284 Avalon Drive, Naples. Runners will have scenic views as they wind around Lake Avalon on a closed path inside the park. Post-race festivities include music, refreshments and a variety of snacks. $35. Eliteevents.org/sugden-stride-5k.html.

Conservancy of Southwest Florida Environmental Summer Camps

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekly, June 11 through Aug. 3, at the Conservancy, 1495 Smith Preserve Way, Naples. The Conservancy offers three types of camps throughout the summer for children completing kindergarten through sixth grade, and a separate Junior Naturalist program for students finishing grades seven through nine. $255-$285 per week for Conservancy Members, $305-$335 for non-members. Kids Free Friday: Mammals

From 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., June 15, in celebration of the Reserve’s 40th anniversary, this popular summer education program provides free admission with programming geared towards children ages 12 and younger who are accompanied by an adult. We recommend a ratio of no more than 3 kids per adult to ensure a safe and pleasurable experience. Rookery Bay Environmental Learning Center is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday and is located at 300 Tower Road, one mile south of the intersection of US41 and Collier Boulevard. Everglades City Parade

10 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at City Hall, 102 Copeland Ave., Everglades City. Opening ceremony at 10 a.m., dedication of the restored firehouse at 10:30 a.m., parade at 10:45 a.m., grand finale musical fireworks display at 9 p.m.  Booths open at 11 a.m. in McLeod Park and include hotdogs and sodas, bake sales, face painting, arts and crafts vendors, kiddies’ best dressed contest and playground games. Kid’s dolphin watch sightseeing cruise

10 a.m. Saturdays, Pure Florida Naples at Tin City, 1200 Fifth Ave. S., Naples. The 1.5-hour children’s cruise provides an entertaining environment for young ones to learn about the Southwest Florida environment and to observe the variety of wildlife present on the waters, such as dolphins, pelicans, eagles and many other animals. While registration for the children’s cruise is free for youth 12-years-old and younger, all children must be accompanied by an adult. Adult tickets are $35 per person. 239-494-5595.

Duplicate bridge

Round Robin Tennis

Round Robin Tennis is available at various times and days for men and women at the Greater Marco Family YMCA, 101 Sand Hill Street, Marco Island. Eight clay courts are available. Lupus support

The Marco/Naples lupus support group meets the third Saturday of each month at Physicians Regional Medical Center, 8300 Collier Blvd, Naples. Meetings are held from 10:30 a.m. until noon in the Palm Dining Room.  Open to all patients, families and interested parties.
