1. Monday: Memorial Day on Marco Island
Memorial Day is a special tribute to men and women in uniform who have lost their lives in combat, and a day to share the grief of families and friends for their sons and daughters that are no longer with us.
The Marco Veterans of Foreign Wars will hold a ceremony at 11 a.m., Monday, at Veteran’s Community Park.
The program will feature music by the Marco Strummers, Wes English, Director; also, the “Star Spangled Banner” and “Taps” performed by Craig Gruesel, director of the Lutheran Church music department.
There will be a salute to the armed services, with members of each service standing for recognition as their branch march is played.
The Marco Island Police Department will present colors.
Attendees are advised to bring umbrellas, sun glasses and hats as well as chairs for their comfort. Water will be supplied by Marco’s Knights of Columbus.
U. S. flags will be placed on Collier Boulevard by the Marco VFW Post members and friends to mark the day.
2. Wednesday: Happy Hour for Hope
5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, at Old Marco Pub and Restaurant, 1105 Bald Eagle Drive, Marco Island.
Admission is $20. Happy Hours for Hope are fundraisers for Marco Island’s Meals of Hope.
The $20 admission fee helps the organization buy food for its packaging event in November.

3. Yoga with the Flamingos
Everglades Wonder Gardens offers "flamingo yoga" twice a week,
Join Susanna Tocco, certified yoga instructor and licensed massage therapist as she leads meditative yoga sessions on organic zoysia grass lawn next to the new improved Flamingo Lagoon.
These rsessions take place before the Gardens open to the public.
The class is 8 a.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, through May 31, at the Everglades Wonder Gardens, 27180 Old 41 Road, Bonita Springs.
Cost is $5 for Everglades Wonder Gardens members, $10 for non-members. Space is limited.
