Interactive exhibit opens

The Marco Island Historical Society (MIHS) announces a new interactive exhibit, “I Remember Marco,” at the Marco Island Historical Museum. The exhibit is open to the public until Oct. 4, and admission is free. Visitors are invited to share stories and recollections about Marco Island and its history by participating in photo opportunities to share via social media, interactive question stations, and recording responses to the exhibit’s memory-inspiring Marco Island artifacts and images. Prizes will be awarded to selected participants.  The Marco Island Historical Museum is located at 180 S. Heritage and Harvest

Through June 24 in the Canizaro Exhibit Gallery at Ave Maria University, 5050 Ave Maria Blvd., Ave Maria. “Heritage and Harvest” depicts the natural resources that attracted and helped sustain early Native Americans and 19th century settlers and the architecture of that time, including early homes, stores and schools, and particularly the waterfronts. The exhibit ranges geographically from the Everglades to Naples to Boca Grande and Pine Island Sound and inland to Immokalee, LaBelle and the Big Cypress Seminole Indian Reservation. Camp Mackle

The City of Marco Island Parks and Recreation Department is taking registration currently, for Camp Mackle 2018. Camp Mackle is a summer camp program for children entering first grade through fifth grade. Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Camp Mackle is underway now and ends on Aug. 14. Camp Stellar is the summer camp for youth 6th through 8th grades. 

Conservancy of Southwest Florida Environmental Summer Camps

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekly, now through Aug. 3, at the Conservancy, 1495 Smith Preserve Way, Naples. PADI Seal Team camp

Join Scuba Marco and the Greater Marco Family YMCA for an underwater adventure Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. until noon. The PADI Seal Team is for 8- to 10-year olds looking for action-packed fun while completing exciting aqua missions. There are two different sessions, June 11-15 and July 9-13.  This week-long summer camp is a great way to introduce young divers to the world of scuba diving. Parallel Harmonies: Art and Nature
