1. Monday: Happy hour for Hope

Marco Island Meals of Hope’s August “Happy Hour for Hope” will be from 5 until 7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 27, 201 at Pinchers Crab Shack, 591 S. Collier Blvd., Marco Island.

Live entertainment will be provided by Rosetta Stone.

Happy Hours for Hope are fundraisers for Marco Island’s Meals of Hope. The $20 admission fee helps the organization buy food for its packaging event in November. A 50/50 drawing is always offered. Marco Meals of Hope is a joint effort of Kiwanis, Noontime Rotary and Sunrise Rotary Clubs.

2. Alpha class at Marco Lutheran

Tuesdays at 6 p.m., beginning Sept 4, food, videos, discussions on big questions: Is this all there is? What about God, Jesus? Does prayer work?  And many more topics.

3. Saturday and Sunday: ‘Circus Transformus’

Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 25 and 26, at the Broadway Palm, 1380 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers.

“Circus Transformus” tells the story of a young girl who awakens to find her world on the brink of disaster. She teams up with an unlikely group of allies to combat the forces that threaten her planet.

Devon Chanceric, Professional Circus Artist, will perform in "Circus Transformus" at the Broadway Palm in Fort Myers, Aug. 25 and 26.

Tickets range $50 to $65. Saturday: 6 p.m. doors open with a preshow in the lobby, 7 p.m. hors d ’oeuvres, 8 p.m. performance.

After party with DJ Groove Chemist and a dessert bar runs until midnight.

This production is intended for mature audiences; parental discretion is advised.
