I've always got some kind of creative, humorous lead for my weekly restaurant news column, but I come to you today solemn, humbled.

It's raining outside and I'm enjoying a nice, warm cup of pumpkin-spice coffee, dreaming about all the good food there is to eat out there in the world.

That being said, it's time for restaurant news.

Last week, we learned about the North Naples restaurant that took the pandemic downtime to transform into the upscale Legends B&G Sports Bar.

This week, discover which Bonita Springs restaurant earned one of Tripadvisor's Traveler's Choice awards for 2020, and find out how to score a free Tropichop bowl from Pollo Tropical.

Angelina’s Ristorante wins 2020 Travelers’ Choice award

According to a news release from the restaurant, "this recognition places (Angelina's) in the top 10 percent of hospitality businesses around the globe."

Customers aren't required to wear masks while they are seated at their table, but they are asked to put them on when they enter and leave the restaurant or are up walking around.

The restaurant has garnered 645 "excellent" reviews on TripAdvisor's website. Several recent reviews specifically praise the restaurant for its efforts to keep guests safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"This place is THE place in Naples/Bonita Springs for me. Amid this COVID-19 thing... they go out of their way to make you feel safe. From the second you walk in someone offers you hand sanitizer. Staff is all masked and the interior design is spectacular," wrote @Joeybb2016 from Hoboken, New Jersey.

Steven S. from Estero visited in April and said this:

"Been very critical of this place for the past 11 years. Some good and some bad but I must say during the COVID-19 this place has hit (it off) the charts. From the pizza to the family dinners for four, hats off to the entire team and a big THANKS for making our dinner time special. People of Bonita Springs, Estero, Fort Myers and Naples, check this place out for take out. You won’t be disappointed. Stay safe."
