'Murder Mystery,' 'Stranger Things' among Netflix's most popular releases for 2019

Netflix is closing the year by shedding some light on its most popular projects in the U.S. for 2019

A crime/comedy feature film starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston, "Murder Mystery," tops the service's list of most popular releases, followed by the third installment of the sci-fi series "Stranger Things." Dave Chappelle's "Sticks & Stones" leads the list of most popular comedy releases.

The popular streaming service has been routinely cagey when it come to viewership data in the past, often selectively releasing numbers via social media. It's important to note that, regarding the following lists, this information has not been verified by an outside measurement service like Nielsen, and is based on the number of accounts who viewed at least two minutes of a title within the first 28 days it appeared on Netflix. For titles that have been on the streaming service for less than 28 days, predictions have been used.
