Dubbed the Wall that Heals, the half-scale version of the iconic Vietnam structure in Washington has arrived in Marco.

It will be open 24 hours a day from today, and an official ceremony is set for 3 p.m. this afternoon, Thursday.

The semi truck carrying the wall was accompanied by nearly 300 bike riders, one of whom was John Perry of Fort Myers Beach.

"It was a great ride," he said. "Well organized. A lot of people on the side of the road get you choked up when you're riding and you see all the flags waving from the side."

The wall will be displayed in Veterans Park through Monday, Feb. 16.

Watch for a photo spread of the weekend's activities at the Wall, as well as a video to be published on this site.
