The Noontime Rotary Club of Marco Island selected Pat and Ron Rutledge and Tom and Lori Wagor as the first four recipients of the 2016 Spirit of Marco Island Award.

Pat Rutledge (Ron Rutledge was not present) and Tom and Lori Wagor were all surprised by the presentation at a recent Marco Island Historical Society Catapult Committee meeting at the Marco Island Historical Museum.

Linda Sandlin of the noontime club, accompanied by several club members, made the announcement to the delight of the board members present. She noted that the Wagors and the Rutledges have volunteered their time and talent to numerous local organizations over the years and were all truly deserving of this recognition.

All of the recipients were moved by the presentation and expressed their humble gratitude.
