On Tuesday morning, customers who have gone to Burger King for breakfast were surprised to see the windows covered.

In addition to covered windows, a note simply thanking customers for their patronage for the last 20 years with a closed sign was posted at each door and on the drive-thru window.

“I was just here yesterday morning and nothing seemed out of the ordinary,” said Richard Stavac, a resident and occasional customer while walking away from the locked doors on Tuesday.

A crew from Southern Management Corp. of Belle Glade, Fla., was on scene all day Tuesday.

They worked quickly to strip the interior of the restaurant equipment and remove all of the vestiges of the Burger King identity from the interior and exterior of the building.

Attempts to reach Southern Management, the owner-operator of the popular fast-food restaurant at the corner of San Marco Road and South Barfield Drive, were unsuccessful on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Check back here for updates as they become available.
