The snowbirds are gone and now is the time to relax at Delnor-Wiggins State Park. Here are programs scheduled this month. Most are about 30-45 minutes, unless otherwise stated.

Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park attracts beachgoers for its unspoiled beauty.

Beach combing

Sunday, May 1, 8, 15, 22, & 29 at 9:30 a.m.

All ages, free with park entry fee

Join a volunteer for a talk about beach treasures. Learn about sea shells, sea creatures and tidal movement. This is a great interactive event. If you need special assistance to participate in any program, please call the park office in advance at 239-597-6196.

Sunset yoga

Monday, May 2, 9, 16, & 23 from 7-8 p.m.

Class fee is $5 plus park entry fee.

Join yoga instructors from Green Monkey Yoga for an all-levels gentle yoga class while the sun prepares to set. Then stay to soak in and celebrate the closing rays of the day over the Gulf. Yoga on the beach

Wednesday, May 4, 11, 18, & 25 from 9-10 a.m.

Class fee is $5 plus park entry fee.

Guided kayak tour

Thursday, May 12 at 9:30 a.m.

Free with park entry fee

Bring your kayak and join a ranger for a tour of Water Turkey Bay and Wiggins Pass. You will explore the mangroves and identify wildlife. Kayakers are expected to have intermediate or above kayaking skills. Reservations required, please call 239-597-6196. Spiders

Thursday, May 19 at 9:30 a.m.

All Ages, free with park entry fee

Spiders everywhere. Even at the spider presentation. There's an abundance of spiders found in Florida, about 900 species. Most people will be happy to know that the majority of spiders live outdoors, away from our homes. Just remember, spiders are beneficial and have a place in the ecosystem. Please join others. Beginning paddle boarding

Thursday, May 26 at 9:30 a.m.

Ages 12 years and older

Program fee is $15 for equipment plus park entry fee

Join park staff as they teach you the basics of paddle boarding and paddle board safety. You will then have an opportunity to get in the water and test your new found knowledge. Program is weather- and water-condition dependent. Space is limited and reservations are required. Contact Naples Beach Adventures to reserve a spot and equipment at 239-431-0958.
