At 7 p.m. Friday-Saturday, June 24-25 and 2 p.m. Sunday, June 26. Wang Opera Center, 2408 Linwood Ave. Naples.
The Summer Youth Workshop of Opera Naples brings the silliest of Gilbert & Sullivan's operas, with its zany crew, seemingly hopeless romance between upper-class and commoner and such G&S favorites as "We Sail the Ocean Blue" and "I"m Called Little Buttercup."
Cost: $10-$18. Information: operanaples.org.
3. Happy hour supports Meals of Hope
Every year the Marco Island community comes together at the Meals of Hope packaging event to feed the needy.
This year’s event will be Nov. 19 and will be dedicated to the memory of Kevin Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald was a long-time supporter of Meals of Hope and for years was the DJ providing music at the packaging event.
Marco Meals of Hope is also re-starting Happy Hours for Hope at local restaurants. Starting with The SpeakEasy, from 5 until 7 p.m., June 21.
Happy Hours for Hope receive donations at the door which are used to buy food product for the packaging event. The restaurants donate happy hour hors d’oeuvres.
