'Big Bang' star Johnny Galecki reveals baby's gender and it's not the one he hoped for
'The Big Bang Theory' cast celebrates their twelfth and final season at The Langham Huntington in Burbank, Calif. USA TODAY
"The Big Bang Theory" star Johnny Galecki and his model girlfriend Alaina Meyer announced the sex of their first baby at a messy gender reveal party.
The couple hosted a paint party, inviting family and friends to paint paper and each other various shades blue over the Memorial Day weekend. The day also included catered food, white balloons and pink- and blue-frosted cupcakes.
Galecki, 44, captioned an Instagram post of he and Meyer in a passionate, paint-covered kiss from the party: "A day I’ll never forget."
Meyer, 22, also shared video from the day on her Instagram Stories and wrote, "To those who voted boy you were right!"
The couple, who made their relationship red-carpet official at the People's Choice Awards in November, announced the pregnancy on May 3.
A boy baby was not what Galecki, who recently tinted his hair blue, joked he was hoping for on "The Talk" earlier this month when co-host Sharon Osbourne pointed out his nails were painted pink. "I got superstitious that I was, like, manifesting a boy, when I kind of prefer a girl," he said.
Galecki said he painted his nails pink to "to try to even out the energy there.”
The experiment didn't work for the actor, who played a man of science on TV.
No matter. Social media photos from the paint party show that the father-to-be couldn't be happier with the way nature arranged things.
