'Black Mirror' returns June 5 with Miley Cyrus, Anthony Mackie, more scary tech in June
Prepare to be even more paranoid.
“Black Mirror,” Netflix’s unsettling sci-fi anthology series, returns with a fifth season on June 5. And there’s a new cast to help show us a terrifying, not-so-distant future.
Netflix says in a release that Season 5 has "three new stories" and is a regular season (meaning it's not interactive like last year's "Black Mirror: Bandersnatch" was).
Here's what else we know, based on what was shown in the trailer released today: Miley Cyrus performs onstage; Anthony Mackie (“Avengers”) has relationship troubles; Pom Klementieff (“Guardians of the Galaxy”) fights in a Mortal Kombat-style action scene; Andrew Scott (“Fleabag”) nervously holds a gun; and Topher Grace has a serious man bun – or is it a ponytail?
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (“Aquaman”), Nicole Beharie (“Shame”), Angourie Rice (“The Nice Guys”), Madison Davenport (“From Dusk Till Dawn”) and Ludi Lin (“Power Rangers”) also star, along with an eager robot, dozens of cellphones and an earbud-like device that we’re already afraid of. Don't look at it, Mackie!
