Florence Welch gets 'very worried' on red carpets

Spoiler alert.

We're starting to get a good sense of who's attending Monday's Met Ball, which benefits the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

This year's theme is punk. Let's hope that the attire is eye-popping, without being head-scratching.

Two confirmed attendees: Carey Mulligan and Florence Welch.

Welch wore Miu Miu to Wednesday night's premiere of The Great Gatsby. She got one of the warmest greetings of the night from Vogue's Anna Wintour, who is in charge of the Met Ball and gave Welch a massive hug before rushing into the screening.

"Anna just ran through (the red carpet). She did it really well. I get very, very stiff and very worried. I think, 'Don't look scared,' " said Welch, who contrary to her rather stern appearance in photos is actually very warm and funny.

Welch cops to being nervous in front of big crowds. What's more nerve-racking, the premiere or the Met Ball?

"I don't know yet. It's hard to say," said Welch.

As for Wednesday night, press wasn't invited to the movie's after-party, but it was held at the Plaza Hotel (where, as fans of the book know, one pivotal scene takes place) and featured a tower of Moët & Chandon Champagne, which also plays a prominent part in the movie.
