Were Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford in love? 'Depends on who you ask'

Princess Leia and Han Solo had an affair in real life. And now that the truth is out, Carrie Fisher can't seem to escape it.
The Star Wars star revealed in her new book, The Princess Diarist, that while filming the original film at 19 she had an affair with Ford, then 33 and married with two children. The news caused such a disturbance in the Force that Fisher is still talking about it.
While making an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday to promote the book, the actress was confronted with questions from the host about the affair, namely how it was kept secret for 40 years. "I told other stuff to distract people so they wouldn’t figure it out. No one thought it was happening at the time – I don’t even know if he did," Fisher joked in response. "No, he did."

When asked about whether the pair was truly in love, Fisher demurred. "Well, it depends on who you ask," she said. "It was infatuation, probably. Love is more mature."
Fisher went on to say that the affair had more to do with "location, location, location," noting that the pair was isolated while filming Star Wars.
"That’s because everybody was away from home, so then the rules – I didn’t know this. I was 19. No one told me about location rules or lack of rules," she said. "But you can do whatever you want, as long as you film the movie. They can sleep together if their family’s not around."
