Debra Winger talks Shirley MacLaine in cringeworthy interview with Andy Cohen

Actress Debra Winger appeared on "Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen" and played a cringeworthy game of Plead the Fifth.

Andy Cohen had his hand full last night on Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen."

Debra Winger, 63, appeared on the late-night talk show Tuesday where they played "Plead the Fifth," a fan-favorite game where Cohen asks celebrity guests three juicy questions about themselves, one of which they can choose not to answer.

A hesitant Winger obliged, naming Harvey Weinstein as “the biggest pig or misogynist” she’d ever met in Hollywood. The next inquiry turned downright awkward.

“Back in the ’80s, there were so many rumors about your relationship with Shirley MacLaine on 'Terms of Endearment.' You wrote about this in your book,” Cohen began before quickly being cut off.

“No! I didn’t write about her. She wrote about me!” Winger corrected. "Let’s try to get something straight. I mean, come on. It’s hard out here for a chimp."

Cohen tried to smooth things over, describing Winger's 2008 book "Undiscovered" as "great," but the didn't let up on the late-night host: "I wrote a book, but I didn't write about Shirley."

Although the tension in the room could be cut with a knife, Cohen moved on to the final question. He asked Winger to rank the kissing abilities of her former co-stars John Travolta, Richard Gere, Anthony Hopkins and Robert Redford.

“Oh god, what were you doing 40 years ago?” she said, flipping the question on Cohen. “So you remember somebody you kissed 30 years ago? You don’t think that you sort of are busy investigating a character, which kind of puts you in another self-state? Right now it’s pretty hard to be authentically a person.”

Cohen responded: “I’m not an actor, so I actually don’t know whether I would remember or not."

The "Shadowland" actress then offered some form of an answer. "I dug kissing all of them. Some of them required a little more sucking in of the cheeks so as to simulate a tongue.”

After the segment concluded, Cohen took to social media to vent: "Tonight’s show was rough. The team and I are having a cocktail to hash it out. I earned a drink tonight," he said on his Instagram Story.

Fans couldn't help but notice either. "I just had a hemorrhoid surgery that was less painful to recover from than watching tonight’s show," one fan tweeted.
