Local stylists attend hands-on seminar
The Hairdressers at Rick's Island Salon and Day Spa attended a three day hands on training seminar put on by the Matrix Haircare Companies Global Design Team.
Owner Rick Popoff said, "We are strong advocates of continuing education, today’s hairdresser must keep connected to stay up with the ever changing industry.”
Hilton secures diamond rating, again
At a rooftop ceremony recently at the Marco Island Hilton Resort, GM Mac Chaudhry and his senior staff members accepted the AAA Four Diamond rating for the 17th year in a row.
On hand for the presentation were Naples AAA office managers Gerry Weis and Douglas Harper.
Hotels at this level are committed to “providing every guest with a personalized experience and attentive service in comfortable, high-quality surroundings,” according to AAA. They typically offer an extensive array of amenities and guest services.
Currently, just 1,587 hotels hold the rating.
“This rating acknowledges the hard work and dedication of our staff,” said Chaudhry.
Realty company chooses manager
Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate has named Stefan Bolsen new branch manager of the company’s Marco Island office, where he will lead over 40 independent sales associates. He has more than 10 years’ experience in real estate.
Originally from Germany, Bolsen and his family relocated to southwest Florida in 2001. He specialized in luxury real estate and marketed his listings to domestic and international clients.
“His extensive knowledge of the Southwest Florida and the luxury market makes him a significant asset to the independent sales associates of the Marco Island office,” said Sue Wolverton, company regional senior vice president.
“I look forward to transitioning back to the city where I first started my real estate career,” Bolsen said.

Local Realtor picks up two designations
Michael Vale of Results Realty is now a certified residential specialist (CRS), a designation awarded by the Council of Residential Specialists – the largest non-profit affiliate of the National Association of Realtors. The training assures home buyers and sellers that CRS designees “subscribe to the Realtor code of ethics, use the latest tactics and technologies, and are specialists in helping clients maximize profits and minimize costs when buying or selling a home.”
Vale also holds the accredited buyer’s representation (ABR) through the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council of NAR. Requirements are successfully completing a course in buyer representation and an elective course focusing on a buyer representation specialty, both in addition to submitting documentation verifying professional experience.
