It was a perfect night for the 120 people attending casino night at San Marco Catholic Church. Every person who walked in the door was a winner for a good cause.

The Council of Catholic Women's two main fundraisers include the annual fashion show and the new casino night. All proceeds go toward youth ministries at San Marco Catholic Church, scholarships to children attending Catholic grade school, Catholic high school and Catholic college.

Other charities include Sunlight Home, St. Vincent De Paul, Providence House and Laces for Love.

When guests arrived, Prime Time, the company that supplied all the tables and equipment, made sure the atmosphere looked and felt like real thing.

"We had wonderful prizes," said Mindy Starr Abby, event chair.

The silent auction featured a Chicago Bears Jersey, a Miami Dolphin jersey, and four Chicago Bulls tickets for April 15 on the floor.

"Casino Night was a great success," said Sue Thomas, cochair. "There was lots of hooting, clapping and big smiles as they bet their chips and hoped for the best for themselves and their neighbors. It was an exciting night of just plain fun with the draw of a card or the throwing of the dice!"
