For Marco Islanders who have thirsted for a little bit of the Naples 5th Avenue offerings, the wait is over.

The popular 5th Avenue Coffee Company will be moving into a space at The Esplanade that's being vacated by another well-known coffee outlet that's relocating to a free-standing structure of its own further north on Collier Boulevard.

Owned by Frederik and Karen Overdijking, the Marco Island setting will be the second location for the couple.

"We think this is the opportune time and the right upscale spot for us to enter the Marco market. The location couldn't be better for us. The combination of the upscale shopping area, pedestrian access and the waterfront vistas gives us a wonderful spot here on Marco," said Frederik Overdijking.

Located on the corner of 5th Avenue and 6th Street in the middle of the upscale 5th Avenue shopping district, the owners saw the similarities in demographics for their own business and jumped on the opportunity to locate their second operation in Collier County at the fashionable and popular Esplanade setting.

The venue on 5th Avenue offers both inside and outside dining and is a popular spot for locals in the center of the top-drawer Naples shopping area.

They anticipate opening their doors to the public beginning early fall after renovations have been completed to the existing space.

"We're looking forward to bringing the same quality we have here and also catering a little to the lunch crowd with sandwiches and salads," said Overdijking.
