The Coast Guard and partner agencies are searching for two boaters who were last seen Tuesday near Estero Bay. 

The missing men, 72-year-old Joe Nita and 81-year-old Brian Daugherty, rented a 22-foot blue and white pontoon boat from Snook Bight Marina, according to a news release. They were due back from their trip later that day, the release said.

One of the mens' spouses reported the men missing around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, the release said. The Coast Guard launched a 29-foot response boat from the station at Fort Myers Beach and a C-144 search plane crew from the air station at Clearwater at 10 a.m., the release said.

Crews from the Lee County Sheriff's Office, Cape Coral Police Department, Bonita Springs Police Department, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission are also involved in the search, the release said.
