According to Wednesday's report from the Florida Department of Health, there are now 47,471 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state. That's an increase of 527 cases from Tuesday's report. There were also 44 additional deaths reported by the state Wednesday, increasing Florida's death toll to 2,096. 

The total number of people who have been hospitalized is 8,681, though the Department of Health notes that figure does not reflect the number of COVID-19 patients currently in hospitals.
