The Southwest Florida-based Ben Allen of the Ben Allen Band will perform on NBC's show "The Voice."

A hard-working group, the band performs regularly throughout the region at bars, restaurants, wedding, other private gatherings and more.

Here's five things you may not have known about Ben Allen:

His first paid performance was at the Blue Monkey Bar & Grille in North Naples.

When he began playing music in Naples, Ben mainly performed Matchbox 20 songs.

The band has opened for major country artists, including Lady A (formerly known as Lady Antebellum) and Thompson Square.

Before moving to Naples, he was a house flipper in Tennessee.
