Sedan-pedestrian crash along Collier County roadway seriously injures 12-year-old Naples girl

A 12-year-old Naples girl was seriously injured Saturday evening after she was hit by a sedan near Hunter Road.

The sedan, driven by a 34-year-old Naples man, was traveling in the westbound lanes on Coronado Parkway, changing lanes from the left to the right, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.

The pedestrian was attempting to walk across the Coronado Parkway lanes when the sedan's left side and mirror collided with the 12-year-old girl.

The pedestrian was then taken to an area hospital in serious condition, officials said.

The crash remains under investigation.
