Collier County COVID-19 vaccine tracker: 72% of people fully vaccinated

About 72% of people living in Collier County are fully vaccinated as of Jan. 11, according to data from Florida Department of Health.

That percentage ranks sixth among all Florida counties. With more than 260,000 fully vaccinated residents, Collier ranks 15th in the state.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention considers someone fully vaccinated two weeks after they've been given a single-dose shot (Johnson & Johnson) or a second shot (either Pfizer or Moderna).

Florida reported 4,806,782 total cases of coronavirus, an increase of 10% from the week before.

The five counties with the highest percentage of their population fully vaccinated in Florida as of Jan. 11 are Sumter County (86%), Miami-Dade County (81%), Osceola County (77%), St. Johns County (76%) and Monroe County (73%).
