A Naples man was charged after a crash at Collier Boulevard and U.S. 41 injured two people Saturday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.  

Mark Noger, 57, of Naples, was charged with driving on a suspended license and possession of a controlled substance after he crashed into a vehicle at the intersection in East Naples at about 6 p.m., according to FHP.  

Richard Phillip Delawder, 76, and Sharon Delawder, 75, both from Marco Island, were sitting in the middle lane of traffic on Collier Boulevard in their 2016 Mercedes-Benz S550 when they were hit from behind by a 2018 Dodge Caravan driven by Noger, according to FHP. 

Sharon Delawder was taken by helicopter to Lee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries and Richard Delawder received minor injuries and was taken to NCH Healthcare Northeast, according to FHP.

Noger also received minor injuries but was not taken to the hospital, according to FHP.  

The report from FHP does not specify which controlled substance Noger was charged with possessing but states alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
