GoFundMe page raises money for family of 5-year-old boy killed in murder-suicide

A GoFundMe page was created for the family of the boy killed in a murder-suicide Sunday night.

Collier County Sheriff's deputies responded to a condominium in Royal Harbor Monday morning after a woman found her son and his father shot to death, according to an incident report.

Investigators determined Paul D. Warren, 45, shot his 5-year-old son, Colton, to death and then died of an apparent suicide.

The GoFundMe page was created on Tuesday to give the boy's mother and her older sons a new home.

The page was created by Meredith Meller, the woman's sister-in-law, and two others.

The funds collected will help the family rent a new home and fund a service for the child.

"The pain is too deep for them to stay where they shared a home with [the boy]," the page states.

As of late Wednesday afternoon, 226 donors helped meet a goal of $25,000.

"If people find it in their hearts to donate more, by all means," Meller said
