Woman charged with manslaughter DUI in connection to deadly I-75 crash in Collier County

Troopers arrested a 21-year-old woman and charged her with impaired driving causing a death in connection with a fatal crash that occurred in August on Interstate 75 at Golden Gate Parkway, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Madelyn Cherie Restivo was also charged with driving under the influence, property damage DUI and DUI serious bodily injury to another, according to the FHP.

The crash occurred Aug. 3, and Restivo was driving a 2005 Mazda south on I-75.

The Mazda collided with the rear of a 2007 Freightliner semi truck, according to FHP.

A passenger in the Mazda was pronounced dead at Lee Memorial Hospital and a second passenger in the Mazda was seriously injured, according to FHP.

Restivo’s blood-alcohol-concentration was a .158, troopers reported. The legal limit for drunken driving in Florida is 0.08. She was taken to the Collier County Jail after her arrest.
