COVID-19 vaccination appointments gone in minutes at NCH Healthcare System

Online appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine were booked within10 minutes at the NCH Healthcare System, according to the website.

NCH officials confirmed the appointments were filled after the noon start for signing up for the vaccine. The vaccines are only for people 65 and older.

“The high influx in traffic to the NCH website at one time caused many in the community to experience service delays or go completely offline,” NCH spokesman Shawn McConnell said in a press release.

The hospital system had 1,200 doses of the Moderna vaccine available between the North Naples Hospital and NCH Baker Hospital near downtown Naples. The vaccines begin Friday and online registration was required.

 “We recognize these slots will fill up quickly and we appreciate our community’s patience,” according to the NCH website. “If you are unable to get an appointment this time, as soon as we receive more vaccines, we will be offering our community more opportunities to sign up in the future. Again, we recognize these slots will fill up quickly, and we appreciate our community’s patience.”

NCH has not yet announced when new appointments would be available.
