Marco Island’s Zoning Administrator Tami Scott resigned effective March 3. Scott’s resignation is the latest in a series that has plagued the city the past several weeks.

Chief Building Official Joseph Berko was the first, resigning effective Feb. 3. His resignation came after a citizen’s recent allegation of misconduct by the building services department. Berko served as the city’s chief building official for just under a year.

City Manager Roger Hernstadt was next, resigning effective immediately during the Feb. 6 City Council meeting. Hernstadt said he felt it was no longer in the best interests of the city for him to be the city manager. He served as Marco Island’s city manager since Jan. 31, 2014.

Beach Advisory Committee member Katie O’Hara also resigned last month.

Scott’s been with the city since January 2014. She resigned to take another position elsewhere.
