A 19-year-old Marco Island man died Thursday night in a traffic crash in East Naples, state troopers reported.

Cole Stocklein died when his motorcycle collided with a car shortly before 11 p.m. Thursday along Collier Boulevard, halfway between Davis Boulevard to the north and Rattlesnake Hammock Road to the south.

Stocklein was riding his 2013 Suzuki north on Collier Boulevard while Joel Ignacio was driving his 2016 Chevrolet Cruze south on Collier, the Florida Highway Patrol stated in a news release.

Ignacio, 18, of Naples, began turning east onto Marino Circle, the entrance to Adventir at Aventine apartments, directly into the path of Stocklein's motorcycle, which had the right of way, FHP reported.

Ignacio's car hit Stocklein and his Suzuki, causing Stocklein to be thrown off the cycle.

Ignacio suffered serious injuries and was taken to an NCH hospital. A passenger, Natalia Rosado-Bermudez, 19, of Naples, went to Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers.

Charges are pending, FHP stated.
